Clara con Limón

Clara con Limón Spanish drinks recipes

A crisp and refreshing clara con limón!

When summer rolls around much of Spain seems to be engulfed in a perpetual heatwave, and the only beverages worth consuming are ice cold and refreshing. The popular clara con limón is something you’ll see people ordering throughout Spain, and although many cringe at the thought of mixing beer with a soft drink, the Spanish seem to have a knack for making it quite delicious.

A clara con limón is simply a beer such as Madrid’s Mahou or Seville’s Cruzcampo mixed with lemon soda (usually lemon Fanta). You can also ask for a clara con Casera an artificially sweetened sparkling soda water.

Here is the recipe for a homemade clara con limón, with a version for those of us without access to lemon Fanta and/or Casera too!
